Welcome to Sand Dunes Woodworks. My name is Mike Magnusson. I started this business in February 2022.
I spent the last 30 years in automotive and truck fleet management. I held a career in operations leadership with the largest fleet management companies in the world until I decided to retire early. So how does this prepare me for a woodworking business? It doesn't.
Growing up I had a neighbor who did woodworking out of his garage. I hung out there and pestered him a lot. Thank goodness he was very patient and tolerant. My Grandfather was also a woodworker and he did his woodworking parttime while he worked. Both had a big influence on preparing me for doing this.
I started doing woodworking at an early age. Starting out building shelves. I always planned to do woodworking when I retired. In 2021 I decided to take the plunge and retire early. Thankfully my wife and family are supportive. I really hope you like the products I create. Everything produced by Sand Dunes Woodworks is made by hand in Zimmerman, MN. (Made in the USA!) Most products are my own design.
